Mercedes 50 years FCM

On 12.22.1965 the first pure football club in East Germany was founded, the 1.FC Magdeburg. This was followed by glorious years with three league titles in the GDR Oberliega and seven wins in FDGB Cup. The whole is crowned with the victory in the 1973-74 European Cup Winners' Cup. The FCM is therefore the only GDR team with a intenationalen Cup.

But after the fall of the decline came into insignificance. A 25 year long way in amateur football. 2000/01 saw the FCM again for a stir when it defeated the 1.FC Köln, FC Bayern München and Karlsruher SC in the DFB Pokal. But that was all. This was followed by bankruptcy and relegation. Now began the new beginning, what is symbolized by the construction of a new stadium. With new strength of FCM was also again a victory over a national league (FC Augsburg 1: 0) win in the DFB Cup season 2014/15 and could only be stopped by a penalty shoot in the 2nd round against Bayer Leverkusen. In the same Saision FCM shafts move up to the 3rd League.

Now finally there is again professional football in Magdeburg. Finally back with pride - sing "Heja, heja blue, white FCM". Finally opponents again with stations. At last you can be proud of the 1.FC Magdeburg again.

And now I wish to 1.FC Magdeburg another 50 successful years in professional football.

 

My special thanks go to Andreas Petersen, who brought the team on the right path, to Jens Härtel and his coaching team who led the team in the 3. Liga and there also leads successfully, to the team itself, always with a lot of passion play and especially to Mario Kallnick, which remained as a player the club itself in Insolvez faithful and now manages it as a sporting director (honorary until 31.12.2015) and, of course, and to the fans of 1.FC Magdeburg who are always behind the club were and always provide a full stall.
